Not sure why this one was here. We hit this case e.g. in:

  var toplevel = '${1 + 2 + 4 + 9}';

  main() {
    print(toplevel);
  }

(i.e. non-simple initializers will make the kernel_reader create a getter which
we'll find here and invoke).
