so, do we know if the fix for 13002 has/will be cherry picked for the 1.3.x
timeframe?

Ah, yes, sorry I should have mentioned that. According to:
https://code.google.com/p/dart/issues/detail?id=13002 it was cherry picked here
https://code.google.com/p/dart/source/detail?r=34646, which created version
-dev.7.9.
