FYI, there are numerous whitespace differences in this file, leading to hundreds
of spurious deltas (instead of the 3 significant lines that this change really
consists of).  I've generally found that automatic removal of trailing
whitespace is counterproductive unless the file had none when you opened it.  (I
have Emacs code to implement this policy if you're interested.)
