Call me paranoid, but I greatly prefer exposed functions that take an array of
things to also be explicitly passed a length for the array. 'Tis a teeny bit
safer on the off chance bad data is ever passed in. arraysize() in base/macros.h
is a handy way for a caller to get the length.
