Zachary: this should be fine, but I'd be interested in looking at your code that
uses the IOBuffer.

IOBuffer should only be used in code that needs to call a network stack method
that uses the IOBuffer type. I just wanted to make sure you're not using
IOBuffer for other purposes.

When my patch that uses the buffers is ready, I'll send it to you for code
review as well.

The reason I have to use IOBuffer is:

I'm pretty much taking the buffers I receive, and extract the data as it's used.

Patch set 1 LGTM.

It seems suboptimal to depend on "net" just for the IOBuffer type. I wonder if
you should define your own reference-counted data buffer type. Perhaps you will
be using other parts of "net" in the future?
