it might be worth mentioning how this affects advertising interval.

note: if unregistering and stopping advertisements is all this does, I'd
consider renaming this method to clearAdvertisements.
But, you (and rkc) have more context on the most appropriate name, so I'll defer
that to you :)

So the naming has been changed before and we decided to stick with
resetAdvertising.
