Will the jars that people have previously download
Will the jars that people have previously downloaded get removed? If not, will
we at least mention something along the lines of what gclient does when a repo
is no longer used ("xyz is no longer necessary, it's recommended that you delete
it" or something along those lines)?

What I could do, is add the JARs I need explicitly

What I could do, is add the JARs I need explicitly named to the .gitignore
(instead of ignoring guava/lib/*.jar, I would ignore guava/lib/guava-20.0.jar).
So at least people would see the files they no longer need and can delete them.
