nit: I think you want under a further "src/" directory here, i.e.,
"src/third_party/elfutils/src" like the one above..

this is so you can put at the "parent", i.e., |src/third_party/elfutils|, all
the GYP, README.chromium, etc..

thanks simon! sorry, I just remembered: I think we also need to add:
/third_party/elfutils/src

to the .gitignore file at the top of the tree..
