What does -cdartk -rnone do? 

I assume you want to run it in two steps:
./tools/test.py -cdartk -rnone
./tools/test.py -cdartk -rself_check --skip-compilation

?

-rnone just compiles the code. I found it to be useful sometimes, usually with
--verify-ir.
