You don't need to (and shouldn't) modify common.gypi at this point.

Hi,
Is it because gyp is deprecated and we need not maintain it in future?
If Yes, I will revert common.gypi changes (submitted to maintain similarity in
GYP and GN)

Correct. In fact, common.gypi has been deleted on HEAD, so you have to remove
this now :).
