The bug referenced in the comment was fixed and this was reenabled. I disabled
shortly thereafter and didn't leave a trail of why. I just ran locally with dm
on the commandbuffer config and got the same images with and without the
extension. Calling glGetUniformLocation is causing a perf problem in Chrome
(issue 5015), so trying this again.
