Hmmm, I don't think we really need to explicitly disable stats collection if the
user hides the debug view. The data can still be recorded and will be visible
when the user shows the view. You can just avoid piping the updates to java if
the view is not showing.

If you want to give the user an explicit option to reset the stats, then you can
add that in the menu.

Ignore this part of the comment, I thought you were disabling stats collection.
Might want to rename this as EnableDebugInfoUpdates.

I am not disabling the stat collection. The stats are collected but anyway, but
not sent to UI, if it is disabled. May be the name is causing confusion??
