This is getting too hairy. Could we bring some sanity into the API? We are to
support and maintain it.

Can we delay the exposure of this to the devtools protocol API until the heap
profiler changes are stabilized?
There are lot of changes on flight (dskiba@ recently introduced native heap
profiling mode, which would be yet another flag).
I think in ~1-2 months from now we'd be in the state of making a more conscious
decision about what we want to expose and allow us to model a more civilized
API.
