This is a lucky case because the patch author used a RefPtr and thus it led to
compile errors in oilpan builds. If the patch author added a raw pointer to
on-heap objects, there would have been no way to notice the error in oilpan
builds.

Agreed, we got lucky here. We can easily get into situations where we will get
crashes from these things instead.
