FWIW, it looks like Chromium's ALIGNOF macro only uses the GCC __alignof__ and
the MSVC __alignof extensions.

V8's V8_ALIGNOF macro though uses the C++11 alignof operator for GCC>=4.8 when
built in C++11 mode (and otherwise falls back to __alignof__ and __alignof like
in Chromium).
