playmobil: please review this CL.  Do you think it is fine
to use an incomplete FTP implementation?  Is it still better
than having no FTP at all?

Ibrar, do you think your FTP code is ready for testing on
Mac and Linux?  I just tested it on Linux and Windows.  The
only problem (but a serious one) is that I can't actually
download a file.  I can browse around in directory hierarchy
and text files can be rendered correctly in the browser
though.

I tested your FTP code only with ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/.

When I clicked on the nspr-4.8.tar.gz link in this directory:
ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/nspr/releases/v4.8/src/
the download never started, and the mouse stayed in 
the busy spinning state.

On the other hand, these links could be rendered in
the browser correctly:
ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/README
ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/index.html
ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/README

Amanda, Mike,

I just checked in Ibrar's fix for the FTP download issue
(http://codereview.chromium.org/118459).  I now feel much
more comfortable enabling his new FTP code on Mac and Linux
as the (only) FTP provider.

Please review this CL.

It just hangs for me.  For instance, ftp://ftp.gnu.org
doesn't work.  
I don't feel comfortable turning it on until it works...

I tested with my Linux build, and ftp://ftp.gnu.org works for me.

I can browse around in the ftp server, view text files (such as
README), and download files.  I didn't experience any hang.

I found one case that hangs for me.  Could you look into this?

1. Go to ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/
2. Click the "addons" link.
