This is simply requestPermission) without the type specified, right? lalitm@ is
working on implementing that and has CLs waiting for reviews. You guys might
want to sync.

Good to hear. I figured this was a placeholder and would either be removed in
favor of or evolve into the generic version. I will ping him.
