If asciidoc supports it, HTML 5 > XHTML 1.1.

Unlike XHTML, HTML 5 permits <br> without the trailing slash, so <br> isn’t
incorrect. http://dev.w3.org/html5/html-author/#void

I wouldn’t mind changing it to <br/> but am going to leave it alone because this
is just a modification of the footer-text template that comes from the default
asciidoc lang-en.conf, which is:

so I’m using the Version line as-is for non-manpage docs, which has the effect
of not showing a Version line at all, because we’re not giving asciidoc a
revnumber attribute.
