for my own info, is the pylintrc file a standard file of something that is
custom to this directory?  Just wondering for example how you chose the list of
warnings/errors to ignore.

I copied it from tools/isolate, which was copied from "I don't recall where".
pylint insist on having one in the current directory, which is annoying.
