Maybe Android being a proper subset of Linux is not the right long-term call?
That shouldn't affect this change, but looking for the right long-term solution.


It might be that the repetition of Linux-->Android rules makes that a
non-starter (it's easier to just be a linux flavor with a few exceptions like
this).

I think the issue here is an assumption made about host and target being the
same, which is "true enough" for ChromeOS but not true for Android.  Thx mal.
