Is this to emulate mouse drag? I see gtk uses gdk_window_get_pointer to get
state, which can return false info because the mouse state may not be up to date
when this is executed... would you agree?

Never mind this question. gdk_window_get_pointer should return after
all pending ui events for the client are executed in X.
