Description

The normal verify_software() functionality in AbstractSSH requires the Autotest directory exists and is writable. Upon loss of the stateful partition, neither of these checks will pass. It's enough to ensure that the stateful partition exists and has space for the stateful and rootfs updates since we're going to blow away the stateful partition anyways.
