size_t is 8 bytes on Linux 64.  It sounds like we've already decided we're okay
with that?  I think 32 bits should cover all our needs, but I want to make sure
it's been thought about already.

Yeah, we talked about it a bit. We currently serialize this as 32 bits anyhow, I
don't see us making 4Gb resources any time soon.
