I'd like to try to land this when it will be non-disruptive. The gyp file change
in required to trigger a gyp regenerate (even a clobber does not do this
unfortunately).

You will need to set svn:ignore for all of the files that are going to be
generated too...

...and you will need to do the same thing for icu, won't you?  If you do that,
you should put its DEPS roll into this changelist.
