* Let's face it: I broke it in the last second when i renamed the function but not
the place where it's being called, and now cros_workon is dead.

Just a comment that isn't necessary to address in this CL. All the backslashes
make deciphering the regular expression more difficult than necessary. Consider
replacing
sed -e 's/.*\/\([^/]*\)\/\([^/]*\)\/.*\.ebuild/\1\/\2/'| sort
with the likes of
sed -r 's%.*/([^/]*)/([^/]*)/.*\.ebuild%\1/\2%' | sort
