brad: Can you verify -g1 works on the Mac?

I'm estimating this will cut 5-10 minutes off the build time, which is a good
improvements for our Linux/Mac bots that typically do try jobs in 40-45 minutes.

With -g1, the stack traces in gdb changes as follows:
